by Liz B. on Very cool drinks here. I don't remember much except the "PYT" (Pretty Young Thing) martinis... I think I had like 4. Colorful atmosphere, attentive bartender. Fresh fruit in all the martinis,
by Sharri Bo on I had a great time at Primal this past Saturday night. It was my friend's birthday, and we were on a VIP list to get in for free if we arrived before 11. We got there around 1045p and the place was deserted. A few of us explored a bit to check out the bar locations and dance floor, etc. There are two bars in the spacious downstairs area, on opposite ends of the place, and a big dance floor where girls in mini corsets and other questionable attire danced on the blocks in front of the stage. My beers were cheap and liquor drinks were around $8 apiece. Not too bad for a club. The place was crowded but I never had to wait more than a minute for my drinks and the bartender remembered me and what I wanted. Bathrooms were clean and there wasn't ever a bad line. Very important stuff for the women out there. And NO BATHROOM ATTENDANTS! That is huge for me because I cannot stand when I feel like I need to tip them just for washing my hands and glancing in the mirror. Music was decent, I remember singing to a lot of it. The usual pop hits with some good rap and r&b mixed in there. No crazy techno stuff or anything else too weird. The decor was a trip, with furry cow print squares on the wall in the front bar and cool loungey couches and chairs in the middle room connecting the front bar and the dance floor. I heard that it used to have a more resort cabana feel before when it was WetBar but I thought it looked cool the way it is now. I had an awesome time here overall, despite the slight shadiness that comes with gyrating go-go dancers and fake fog and glossy-eyed boozed up revelers. (Because who am I kidding...I AM one of those revelers.)
