venue is nice. inside looks like somone's house.. definately not my house though. the bouncers are mean! only the one who opened the door and said "welcome to my house" was nice. the rest of the staff were rude and/or stuck up. also, the bathroom lady kept asking me for tips. came here on a saturday, which was asian night, which equals fobs. i felt like i was in china, not hollywood. he music was somewhat hard to dance to. overall an okay night after a couple of drinks and putting the beer goggles on.

I will readily admit that my coolness factor is nowhere near approaching off-the-charts. I am okay with that. So long as you know that I know this, esp as you read my review. I'm 27, but inside, I think I'm approaching 40. Except isn't 40 the new 20? So maybe I'm 57 inside, yes, that's more like it. But a friend of mine was visiting with his girlfriend from the Philippines, and he doesn't know Austin, and she's all into clubbing it up in Makati + Manila, the hottest cities in the PH (hee, hot, get it?) Normally the hubs & I are into chill places: again, I like coffee shops. He likes, say, the Drafthouse; we usually hit up Lavaca Street Bar, Little Woodrow's downtown, easy-going places like this. Except when I was in grad school a few years ago -- and then me & my girls would hit up Spill like nobody's business. But man, Spill was *dead* last Friday night, perhaps b/c all the college kids are on spring break. Maybe 6 people there. And so somehow, Pure sucked us in. And it was perfect, I'm not gonna lie. We all dug the all white decor, illuminated with a sort of blue-white everywhere. I liked that there were nothing but booths on the 1st floor, with cutouts everywhere to cut down on the creepiness-factor. And the dancefloor on the 3rd floor, with the music -- man, we were all over that. Um, not quite as graphically as some of the other dancers. And yes, all the guys staring at all of us kinda creeped me out too. But overall -- thank goodness for Pure, I felt like it saved me from looking like a total loser. Now we did bounce out about half an hour or 40 mins after getting in, and again, it wasn't packed, there was no cover, and we weren't super dressed up + we all got in. So for sure, 4 stars.
