by Carlos S. on Was in New York wanted to hear some House Music and people recommended Cielo to me and I was not disappointed. We were able to get in without too much trouble. Enjoy the music.
by Hae Cerf on To celebrate a birthday of me and my friends, we decided temple was the place to be. A few things stood out to me: - Bottle service had a line. BOO i'm paying you $400 for a bottle of $30 Grey Goose. get me in the flucking club already. - The main stage spun House music. Thank flucking god no more of that top-40 Garbage. I heart House. - 3 different stages, two of which are in the basement. Cool idea, but did you ever stop to think about how my drunk ass is going to get up and down the stairs? - An EXTREMELY nice group of EMT's. They gave out free water! Plus, my 4 people from our party decided that after killing my bottle of Grey Goose that they should all head to the EMT room to puke up that $300 bottle. Mind you, we got into temple at around 10:30ish, and our EMT mini-party started at about 11PM... - My super nice host bought me the biggest birthday shot of vodka i've ever had...But i might have accidentally tipped her 80 bucks for the bottle.....could that be why? Basically....Temple was a sh!tshow, and I wouldn't have it any other way. and Kudos to two of the three troopers held up for as long as they could; Chandler M. was not one of the two.
by Corine Grensky on I hosted my birthday party at the Kress last night - 16 for dinner and others to join in the club after for drinks. When we arrived, it was nearly impossible to get in due to an episode of MTV's Sweet 16 being filmed there ....ick. Once we were seated, the server promptly told us that we needed to hurry because another party has booked this table at 10p. Our reservation was for 8:15p -- what 16-person dinner will finish in under 2 hrs?? Rude! Ordering drinks and food was disorganized and frustrating. The server never introduced himself but did say - if you ever need anything, just grab me, him (the server at the next large table), or any of the assistants (bussers) and we'll get you what you need. umm.. yeah, it's that the server's job? If we paused at any time in the order, he would immediately turn to the next table to see if they needed anything .. it was SO RUDE! We had to keep calling him back for more help, food and drinks. The food itself was okay: - sushi was tasty but nothing innovation for $18/roll - the satay skewers (mahi mahi / chicken / steak) were all good but not great - chicken fried rice was dry and tasteless - egg rolls had a deep fried shell but almost nothing inside - mango yellowtail sticky rice was tasty but too sticky - rock shrimp were covered in gooey sweet & sour sauce- couldn't tell if it was shrimp or chicken - cocktails were watered down - dessert menu looked so unappetizing that we ordered no dessert - very strange! - on the plus, the lamb chops were excellent I thought the club aspect would save the poor dining experience but upon paying our bill, we were told that the club is closed for the private bday party. Mind you, we had just been quoted for bottle service earlier in the week and told the club would be open. We waited 20 mins to speak with the manager and she was completely disagreeable - arguing that they "just found out" about the club closing at 7p .. which didn't give her enough time to call us. About 30 mins later, and many many angry patrons complaining later, they opened the basement up to the restaurant patrons and a private party (G for Gents was filming). We were not compensated for our disgusting food, terrible service .. nor did the restaurant help my other friends get into the club and we continued to drink watered-down drinks for the remainder of the evening. What an embarassment - the Kress should be ashamed.
