by Kimberly G. on I would ideally give Continental 3 1/2 stars but anywhere with a rooftop automatically gets points. I was visiting from New York and I am a big fan of Philly since it is not as pretentious as a lot of the New York scene. I didn't eat here so I was only at the rooftop bar area. Continental was a mixed bag of dare I say d-bags, very young looking girls, and regular young professionals getting drinks on a Saturday night. The bartenders thought they were a little better than you but the drinks were solid. Not a fan of the music though - an off mix of 70's rock and house music.
by Isobel Houy on I like places with no cover. I like places that are clean. I especially like restrooms that are clean. Therefore, I like Sloane. Getting in was easy; just sign up for the guest list online, add your number of guests (up to five total), and then you're in. The venue is very still new (and still smells like new wood). Drinks are moderate to pricey, depending on what you order. Definitely not a place to do rounds and rounds of shots...though our birthday boy learned that the hard way :)

A full Funktion One provides the sounds coming out of the speakers , LED's provide your lights and Sapporo was my drink of choice for both evenings that I was there. I went on a thursday night to see a friend play and I was pretty blown away with the place. The sound is soo good that you can have a conversation next to it and not have to scream. What a concept I tell you .. good sound in a small room. It has a very sophisticated log cabin feel to it but the dancefloor is a square that is surrounded by these massive speakers. All in all a great time on Thursday. However the real magic happens on Monday nights. Francois K's Deep Space night was one of the reasons my flight was on late tuesday afternoon back home. It's totally come as you are. The door was soo different. My only regret was not getting a shirt at the beginning of the night and by the end they were sold out. Regardless I heard Francois play everything from Justin Timberlake to Joris Voorn to Drum N Bass and everyone just following along with it. People from all walks of life were there and it was such a great vibe. I totally cannot wait to go back. It's a very special feeling to experience that. Simply magical.
