by Rebekah T. on The first time I came to Roe, it was for my girl Suzy's birthday. It was bottle service all the way, dancing the night away. When a friend recommended that we meet at Roe for Happy Hour I was all for it. The Friday Happy Hour specials are $5.00 Drink Specials (that night it was Vodka Gimlets), $4 well, $3 beers, & $5 Wines. Since then, I've learned that almost every night has a unique happy hour special. Tuesday seems like the day to go with $2.00 drink specials and 2 for 1 small plate appetizers. Hello Happy Hour!! I enjoyed the Vodka Gimlets, tasty and refreshing. With our cocktails and conversation, we decided on ordering a small plate. We ordered the pulled spare rib sliders, 3 to a plate. They hit the spot. I will most definitely be back to Roe for Happy Hour. It's a nice classy little lounge that's not over crowded, serves good cocktails and appetizers.
by Merna Lepinski on I came here this past Saturday to see DJ Samer play. He's a friend and he has his own record label and he is a mean DJ. Well, not mean like not nice, but mean like his beats will get your wheelchair-bound grandma to stand up and shake her booty. Keywords: VIP, Guestlist, bottle service, complimentary drinks. Since I was on the guestlist, I flew right by the line, past security and down to "Destiny Lounge." -- if only I could put my name on guestlists at the airport -- I'd be set. This club is huge! It's got different rooms with different styles of music - hip hop, trance, etc. The upstairs also had go-go dancers and were playing jungle-type music -- not my style. I stayed where it was safe -- at the Destiny Lounge where DJ Samer & DJ Jason Knight played some really good house. The bartender was a cool lookin' girl who made strong drinks - at lightning speed. I had a great time here, the security and staff were very nice, but the crowd here is not the crowd that I want to party with. They were mostly young and looking to get laid -- right on the dance floor. For a $20 cover charge, I think the club can afford to screen some of these sleezeballs before letting them in. Or they should be marked. Or something. The bathrooms were disgusting -- I felt like I was back in high school and we didn't have enough money in our budget to hire custodian staff to clean the bathrooms more than once a week. Overall, it's a nice place - I felt like I was partying at a Buddhist temple, which is cute, but I'd probably only come back if my friends were djing here.
