by jay w. on Funny to see the paid "i love this place" reviews, because this place is anything but loveable.. while the bartenders are adequate and the drinks are as strong as any other place, the service, especially the food service, is less than desireable, it's over priced and the food isn't anything to write home to mom about. Seriously, probably the best thing on the menu is the parmesan french fries...what's that say for the place? And the prices are way to high...the only reason to go here is to feel like you were in NY or LA (or worse, houston) and needed to be reminded of how bad other places can be with snooty service, ok food and dropped a $100. I do not recommend it when there are so many better dining experiences in Austin ...
by Durhamite i. on Silk City: The diner is open late-night, busy as hell, and connected to a large club-type structure. Live music and such. One of the only spots that stays open in Philly-East, to my knowledge. Always liked the place... always will. Every Monday night, "Back To Basics!" they have amazing live music and turntable action. When I went, it was jazz and turntable fusion. The shit! I highly recommend Monday night at the bar! Highly!
