Came here to enjoy an evening of music DJ-ed by a friend of a friend... Drinks: standard fare Music: awesome Dancing space: tragic I don't know if my experience is representative of most evenings, but I was generally VERY annoyed by the setup of the place.  They had a catwalk setup for some campy 20-minute bikini show (BORING!) that we were essentially forced to watch.  When the catwalk wasn't being used, it was simply cordoned off from cover-paying partiers.  What's up with that?  You have to understand that it essentially left a tiny dance area and we were forced to dance in a skinny 3-foot walkway between the tables and the catwalk...ugh. So for the hip hop area upstairs, it was okay.  Music was good, but it was entirely packed...no space to dance, no air.  People were a tad on the ghetto side, so I'm totally not surprised that people report multiple episodes of fighting/shoving through the night.

This is a very nice aquarium with multiple venues / habitats to browse through at your own pace.  We went during the early part of the week, so we did not see crowd issues or lines others have mentioned.  We took 3 hours to browse all of the venues, (with a 13 yr old), and we spent a good 20-30 minutes just sitting and watching the animals from behind the "glass wall".  It was amazing and hypnotic.  When exiting, our 13 year old said he was actually impressed and enjoyed himself. While I was initially reserved about the ticket prices, once we walked the exhibits, we felt that the price was fair compared to what I have seen and paid at other aquariums in various other locations in the US.  I was disappointed about the Beluga Whales being "on vacation" but overall the experience was one of the best I've had at aquariums around the country. BTW, they are installing a new exhibit so we plan on returning once that is completed.

Here's the thing.  Getting into Temple is expensive if you don't sign up for the guestlist at http://going.com.  And everyone inside is dressed the same.  But the music was loud, the drinks were strong as fuck, and there's an enormous amount of stimulation inside.  Video screens, pink lights, strong bass, Buddha statues.  I kind of LIKED the fact that the dance floor was so wet that people were slipping and falling on their asses.  I fell twice and I LOVED IT.  Will definitely be back in a month or two when I want to know what it feels like to LOSE CONTROL again. The second floor was a great place to get free drinks.  Go up there about 12 when things are crazy and you'll see what I mean.
