I've been coming here for years. Great bar with drink specials almost every night. One of the few outdoor decks in SF. There is often some sort of entertainment. Ive especially been enjoying KJPaul and his karaoke party lately.

Tip #472: Hang out at a Swanky Hotel Pool in the middle of the day, during the Week. It is quite the conundrum with so many exquisite hotels in Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Not to worry. The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is one of THE places to soak up some sun, enjoy the eye candy, and relax while you wonder where you went wrong...What does everyone around here do for a living so that they can all hang out by the pool all day long? Since its bar, the Tropicana, is open to the public, it seems logical to let people venture inside THRH poolside. When you get to the hotel, there is valet (that you can pay with credit card when you leave) but the hotel is surprisingly close to Hollywood Blvd so if you can find alternative parking, rock on! Once inside, head on back to the pool. I was intimidated the first time, but don't let the podium and the attendant at the door to the pool area alarm you. They are just there to answer questions. The pool boy's and waitstaff will then get you whatever you need. Given the time of day you are there and whether the pool is busy or not, you'll get a single or double sized lounge chair and a drink/bar menu. Like any bar, the food and drinks aren't cheap, but think of yourself as a celebrity without a financial care in the world... responsibly, of course.

This is one of my favorite clubs in San Francisco. Why? Because most clubs/lounges in SF are SOOOOOOOOOO SMALL that you can't do much, BUT IS BIG!!! Suede has two floors. There are two dance areas each: on the bottom AND the top floor!!! How many places do you know have that? On the bottom level, right when you walk in theres room for you to dance and when you walk further into the club, there's a bigger dance area. The upper level also has a small area to dance right when you walk in and if you walk in more there's another dance floor, however the bigger dance floor upstairs was closed off last time I went. Another love? THREE BARS to serve you drinks... THREE! Two downstairs and one upstairs!!! Surprisingly, the music upstairs was good!!! I didn'tmuch complaints and that is difficult to find in a club: Steady, Good Music! Downstairs' music was slightly disappointing at times. The location of this club is further in SF (off of Embarcadero twd Pier 39) and that is bad because you have to drive a bit further on Embarcadero, but great b.c it's away from the thousands of people looking for parking in downtown sf where most of the other clubs are. It also has an inside smoking area, which is bad b.c of ventilation, but good if you are like me and hate to stand out in the cold. One caution, I prefer asian crowds and I go there when an asian promotion party is throwing it or it's a friends birthday. I'm not sure if other crowds go here, but I know there's always a lot of asians when I'm at Suede. Might want to keep that in mind if you care about the type of crowd!!! Happy clubbing! =)
