Came here on a Saturday evening just for drinks, and we had a great time. A person named Brian, who we think was the owner, said hello to us and was suggesting single malts to drink, as I was drinking those along with my Guinness. The bar manager, whose name I can't remember, also came over to talk to us. The two guys behind the bar, one named Kevin, were both great to us and very funny. We were drinking Guinness, Chimay, Duvel, a Guinness/Stella half and half (my girlfriend is a little weird), a slew of single malts (Lagavulin was really friggin good), one too many Irish Coffee's, a margarita which smelled great. We got there at 8pm and didn't leave till about midnight and the place was packed, literally we had to squeeze our way out. I've been to Fado's in other parts of the country and never been disappointed. Unfortunately I never got to the food, which would have been corned beef and cabbage. Next time.

One of the best brunch places in the city. The atmosphere, the friendly staff and the delicious food all added up to one of the best dining experiences I've had in ages! Kudos to Mike and Jen!

OK, I'm not a local, but the two times I have visited Phillie, I have always had fun at Silk City. The diner itself has good food, beautiful tables, great view, and the waitresses are sassy and actually good at their job. Casual, hip, kinda hipsterish, but good ambience and open late. Fun fun fun. AND it connects to the lounge, a velvety red lounge with comfy places to sit and pass out on. The bar is smaller and the bartender is great and the drinks on tap were well poured and one can SMOKE in there...yippie!
