Watch out Woody's - you may have competition as my fav place to watch ball on a weekend. Headed here Saturday morning to catch some NCAA and some grub. Cover 3 did not disappoint on either front. Every game, everywhere. And my breakfast was stellar. It's really nice in here. As in, upscale. They have a giant full bar, tons of seating, snazzy decorating, a fancy bathroom (albeit very hard to find)...but the best part is the biggest, clearest TV I've seen in Austin. Got to watch the Buckeyes whoop some tail center stage while I snuck a peak at three other games i could see from my comfy booth. It wasn't very busy at all which really surprised me, cuz all around this place is pretty great. The staff was really friendly, and the whole vibe here is chill. I would have been embarrassed had i been walked in wearing pajamas pants (which I might do on game day), but its the kind of place that would make you feel comfortable anyway. You can order off the regular menu, but they also have a brunch menu. It's limited to about ten items, about 7-$12 each, but all unique items, nothing boring. It all looked fantastic, but i settled on the breakfast enchiladas. It was corn tortilla stacked with shredded chicken and jack cheese, some queso, then eggs and roasted jalapenos on top. And oooh, the sauce....$8, worth every penny. Also came with some giant muffin tops which is genius (top of the muffin to ya!). I had never-ending coffee, but the date was all over the Make-Your-Own-Bloody-Mary bar. Having just come from the gym I wasn't in a boozy mood, but almost gave in. It looked like so much fun. I've never seen so many goodies all lined up - can't wait to go back and play. Given the whole upscale vibe of this place, the prices are more expensive than a dingy sportsbar. But happy hour special 7 days a week make this a non issue. I will be back asap!

I give Charlie Horse and everything that Anna Conda has done with this bar (The Cinch) a five-star rating. I give similar kudos to Lucy Borden and the staff that continue to make this place fun and vital ... the very last gay bar on the Polk. I could do without the Marina bitches who seem to invade this space with their boyfriends as if they were 'slumming.'  It's not that str8 folks aren't welcome -- they are! -- but please, can't they realize they are in a queer environment and behave accordingly ... this is the LAST gay bar in the 'hood.  When in Rome ... But for me, it's all about Friday nights at midnight when the Danny Elfman theme from 'PeeWee's Big Adventure' blares through the speakers and the drag show begins.  Anna Conda has turned this little dive into THE place to be on Fridays.  And it's all-inclusive ... the drag performers range from extreme novices to extreme pros, but all get equal billing and equal treatment.  Gotta love that. I wish they would improve the beer selection ... maybe adding 1 or 2 local microbrews.  Right now, it's limited to Speakeasy's Big Daddy (an excellent choice).  But, c'mon, what about  Racer 5, which they serve at Truck. There's also a fun scene on Saturday nights called 'Charmpop.'  DJ Dank and DJ Dingbat at the helm.  Just tawdry enough to make you realize why you don't want to spend another night in the Castro.  Fun.

It wasn't too hard to get into this place with 9 gorgeous mamas in tow. All you have to do is walk straight to the front (pissing off all of the people already waiting in line for the last hour), and ask the bouncer nicely. I really thought this club would be bigger and nicer, but it just looked like every other club in Cali or Miami. I really, honestly tried to spot some celebrities, but I couldn't because I was having too much fun dancing with the girls and security Steve in the upstairs room. We did get to partake of the Cristal and Grey Goose from one of the VIP tables that we were dancing on though. It's great being a girl!
