B. on stumbled upon this place during LA Artwalk, and came back Friday night to check it out. cool vibe. huge 40 foot ceilings make you feel like your on a movie set, which you are if you saw THE SOCIAL NETWORK. bar girls are hot AND friendly-- a rare combo in this town. got hungry and found a choice of food trucks parked nearby. perfect. fun night.
by Gerald Bellusci on Well, I have to tell you this club is a major disappointment after being too the the old "Havana" in Buckhead. Why would I expect the same music, the same atmosphere, the same vibe at this so called "new and improved" Havana Club. First, avoid the valet at all costs. Find a place to park and walk. The time you will save, even if you have to park a mile away, will be worth the effort and the time saved. Next, NO COAT CHECK! I scream that because my wife had her coat stolen...just fucking lovely! Third, they need to charge a higher cover. Why there were literally a thousand people trying to get into this place I have no idea. A higher cover might have thinned the heard of the throngs of boys expecting a Buckhead hook up... I was there on a Saturday night for a private party, in a private room, with what was supposed to be easy access to the club. Unfortunately the "herding staff" outside had 3 or 4 different lines that my party and I were redirected to several times, until someone finally recognized the name of our group. I mean, really! We had our own VIP room, paid good money in advance for the room and no one at the front door staff had a friggin' clue?!?! Finally my explanation for 2 stars: I do have to give props to the live band, which although they were playing top 40 (not what I expected in a club called "The Havana Club") were tight, hot and fun. The bartender in our VIP room seemed to have the uncanny ability to not only remember everyones name but their drink orders, every time they returned to her for more. And the sound system kicked ass all night long, though the music was not what I expected or wanted to hear in a club called "The Havana Club"!!!!! Go to Opera instead.....
