Well worth it. Playhouse is a place for 21+ year olds to let loose and have fun, maybe not in a classy way, but what do you expect from drinking boozers? This place can be pretty strict, we knew a friend who's gf was a bartender, and waited just a little bit, but worth it to no pay $20. But you could be a hot girl and you will still have to wait, eh that's good and bad I suppose. Came here for a friends bday. Surprised I was sober. Nevertheless, had a great time. Walk in and there's this long hallway, then come through and there is one bar to your right and another right in front. A massive circular bar. Most of the bartenders were very nice. One guy however, not so nice. Had some attitude... even though I was really nice. Though the bartender that was at the right of the bar when you walk in, super nice. Gave my girls two free drinks for my friends b-day. Drinks are a bit expensive, I ordered 5 drinks and came to $65... not including tip. Eh, but expected in Hollywood at a new place. There is a dance floor at the bottom which is pretty big. Nice to stand above though to people watch. There are bottle service tables that surround the entire place. Some nice drunk guys offered us to sit down and drink. Start pouring the bottle straight into my friends mouth. Sure, thanks?! The music is fun, some hip hop but mostly house. This place has a nice decor, just the perfect club space with a great energetic crowd. A mix of every person, but nobody too out of control. There is another bar up stairs but that it blocked off to private parties. This place is opened until 4 in the morning! :).... They have go-go dancers at the top, they are okay, also the bartenders and the girls walking around throw napkins in the air, yes i said napkins. Seems like a waste, but kind of cool.

When I lived in South Jersey this was my favorite place to go. My friends and I would go there to enjoy some Buzz Aldrins and some great apps. So when I knew I'd be going back to the area to visit I thought it would be a great idea to organize a mini reunion and head over there for old time's sake. Unfortunately the place wasn't as good as I remembered it. From the moment we got there the service was bad. When I arrived with my party of 5 we wanted to get a table because we wanted to eat and later on move on to the upstairs bar but they refused to seat us because they said they did not seat incomplete parties. Meanwhile the place was completely empty, there were empty tables everywhere and we were only waiting for 2 people. The last time we were there they had seated our incomplete party, no problem. Anyway, we decided to go get a drink upstairs as we waited for our friends and the bartender gave me an attitude after she butted into our conversation. Not only that but the drinks she made sucked. The Buzz Aldrin was watered down and not as sweet as it always was. Finally our party was complete and we were seated. Everyone was having a pretty good time and then at around 11:45 they did a last call for drinks which I thought was odd being that their website said they closed at 2am on Sundays. Ten minutes later some guy came around and told us we had 5 minutes to leave. I asked him why their hours were different online and he said sometimes they close early if business is slow, which I can understand, however, I don't think it's good customer service to ask your customers to leave especially if they just spent a lot of money and you're supposed to be open for two more hours. Needless to say I won't be going back here.
