by Christine K. on If you have high expectations for this place for their FOOD-- drop it now!! I absolutely would not go to this place for their food but more so, i would go for their BAR. Their menu is over priced and you can get better sushi down the street or even at Jtown down a few blocks. However! their interior is amazing and their alcoholic beverages are yummy. Their lounge is located in a little bubble upstairs and it gives off a very private feel. Go there for the drinks, concerts, club events... but dont eat there if you want something with flavor or even worth your money.
by Connie Krishna on Even after attending Middlesex at least a handful of times I'm still not sure what to think of this NYC style bar. It's definitely got some of the coolest interior design in Boston and I love the high ceilings and movable benches. It also has great local DJs playing creative music and cutting edge guests coming through regularly. So what is it that I'm not sure about? Well the food is overpriced and the portions are tiny. Plus I don't really dig the crowd the I usually find at Middlesex, for such a cool spot the patrons leave alot to be desired in hip factor. All in all there is nothing like it in Boston, it's one of the best/only "lounges" in the city and I try to go here at least once a month.
