Had dinner here with my absolutely favorite dining partner-of all time. Since we hadn't seen each other in some time, we were hoping for a good experience. What a fantastic experience it was.......this joint did a great job. I'll explain. Upon arriving we were greeted by friendly, professional, but not in anyway smug folks. Since we were early we waited at the bar and had a drink. The owner of the place spent a few minutes chatting with us and then left the two of us to talk. Perfectly handled. Dinner, preceded by a scallop appetizer and a fried green tomato appetizer was perfect. Great flavor, fresh ingredients, well sized portions. This was topped off by the fact that the entrees, shrimp perleau and fried chicken, were very much in keeping with the regional tradition. This was not Southern inspired cuisine, it was Southern cuisine done right and in keeping with modern standards. This was topped off with pecan pie and banana pudding. Perfect. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The server could answer all our questions and timed everything just right. Again, perfect. If you're from ATL and haven't eaten here, check it out. You won't be disappointed. If you're from outside the region, come here to try some regional flavors.

This is hard for me to review. The food we had was excellent, especially the Greek calamari. Probably one of my favorite dishes ever (really good calamari with feta, olives, red pepper sauce, arugula and tomato salad). For the entree we split the chicken fried beef tenderloin with green chili gravy- awesome. The green beans that came with the dish were mushy, and the mashed potatoes were just well, mashed potatoes, but the main part of the meal was really good. Ok, so here is where my having trouble reviewing comes in. I actually think the concept of the place is really stupid. Upscale sports bar? So yes, they had tvs, even a big screen but with no sound. I mean, it was just U.S. vs Mexico in soccer but there were people there interested in the game. And the draft beer selection, poor and expensive. This is not a place I would ever say "hey let's go watch a game at Cover 3 and drink expensive beers while eating expensive food that doesn't really go with beer". So yeah, I think they are confused as to what their identity should be. But the food is really good. Maybe I am just the one who is confused.

Wonderful food, great atmosphere, but I went through hell twice trying to get a table. They don't really have things very organized and refuse to make a reservation for less than 3 people. Though in the end of the day, the food is worth the trouble, so only come if you're ready to be abused a little..
