Interesting place! Very much like a Carnival without animals or rides. Bottom line- if it wasn't for a certain rateclubs party I probably would never come. The games here are sort of a joke, which cost 4 tickets & up. The tickets are a dollar a piece. And I'm frugal so... go figure! I love that they have a concession stand that sells carnival food (candy apple, popcorn, cotton candy etc.) which adds to its great ambiance and that's about it. But honestly if I wanted to go to a carnival, I would. And if I wanted to go dancing at a lounge, I would. But not a carnival lounge. I don't know. Sounds weird, is weird. AND OH! those stairs! 5 flights- I do believe. Damn, I feel bad for those employees.

love this place for hosting basement bhangra, which is always a blast. a girl can really get her dance on without having anyone creepy trying to grind on her here. bhangra nights always attract an interesting crowd. it's a unique event to bring out of towners to. cocktails are overpriced, but they tend to pour generously on mixed drinks. beer selection is fairly bad and i was pissed that they pour bottled beers into plastic cups (pet peeve of mine, don't bars realize that people don't like warm beer?). the free frozen mojitos (served between 7-8 pm) taste like listerine, but i guess you can't complain if they're free.

I walked into my hotel room in Austin today to find a room of old friends and family members all sitting in a circle. Uh oh. I've seen this before. What's that show called? Intervention? I darted back to the door, but was dragged into the middle of the circle where my great aunt Elaine with the funny eye, grandmother Louise with the killer oatmeal cookie recipe and even more killer Halitosis (Hhhhello chhhhhildren! Hhhhhhow are yhhhhou?!), my uncle Eugene with the you-ain't-foolin'-nobody comb over, my cousin Sally from the valley and her mom with her three little dogs, and even my mail man, George. Dude, I thought we were tight. Anyway, it appears I have some sort of addiction... ADDICTION TO THE BEAUTY BAR!! AHHHHHH!! I turned 21 while living in Los Angeles, and made a habit of dragging my friends to the OG location in Dirty Hollywood, my favorite neighborhood in LA. We went every week to rub shoulders with cool strangers, sip on cervezas and shimmy to the beats. The last time I went, Tyrese was even there. And well I think we all saw Fast & the Furious Part II. Everything he touches turns to gold... "Thanks for coming out, Tyrese!" is what my very intoxicated/awesome friend screamed at the top of his lungs while we vroomed off in our embarrassing rental car. Anyway, I've been to the NYC one, and still had a good time. The LA location is better in my eyes, but I'll take the stuff however I can get it. I was lucky enough to complete the circle of BB addiction and visit the Austin BB (and also scream "Trifecta! Trifecta!" while fist pumping in the air and doing the Kitty Cat on the dance floor.) Ahem. I gotta say the Austin location is a favorite. It blew NYC out of the water and is pretty close (better?) than the one in LA. The set up is really nice with a huge patio in the front and a dance floor inside. If you don't feel like dancing (I do) than hang with some friends on the patio while you heckle the honeys passing by on the street. If you do want to dance (you do) than shake it inside on the big dance floor. My girl and I have been twice since coming into Austin on Thursday, and we plan to go back again tonight. So yes I may have an addiction, but I am A-OK with it.
