by Tanner Senemounnarat on It's interesting that most of the reviews are for Medjool as a dance spot, not as a restaurant, which it happens to be most of the day/ week. Five of us gathered for a much-needed Ladies' Night dinner on Saturday. We ordered a bunch of plates from each of the regions represented on the menu (North African, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern) and the food was ALL amazing. There was sea bass, halibut, steak, chicken, hummus/baba ganoush, scallops, pita, couscous...I can't even say what was my favorite. Everything had distinct flavor, but all very pleasant. Our waiter was amazing, even if he did say "you look like you need a drink." The bill came out to just over $200 for our group, including drinks. It's definitely not cheap but the food is absolutely delicious and I would love to come back!
by Zackary Mcirvin on I came here on a Saturday night for an exclusive work event, and it was super crowded. I heard the place was sold out for the night, so there was basically 4,000 people roaming the California Academy of Science. There was so many long lines that it got pretty insane! We were all informed about the Planetarium and Bugs 3D show. We were told that the passes would be given out 45 minutes before each showtime. I was glad to hear about this, after reading a lot of rateclub reviews stating the passes sell out very quick. I showed up at the planetarium at 6:45pm, and we got in line to get tickets. A few minutes later, one of the workers tells us that all the passes are sold out for the night! I was really shocked about this, since they were not supposed to hand out all the tickets for all the shows immediately. The workers are supposed to wait 45 minutes before the showtime. I noticed a lot of people were super frustrated, shocked, and disappointed that they couldn't watch the Planetarium show. I know I was really disappointed myself. =( I asked the worker if they allowed people to enter the show if there were empty seats. The worker told me its sold out. Even though they handed out all the tickets, I know that there will be some empty seats. I was a bit surprised that they wouldn't let people inside considering there are empty seats, too. The same thing happened at the Bugs 3D show. The workers handed out all the passes early instead of waiting 45 minutes before each showtime. There was a lot of frustrated and disappointed people. I think it is just wrong that the workers didn't stick to the rule, and the rule was 45 minutes before the showtime. Since all the passes were given out early, I was unable to see any of the shows. =( I tried to line up for the rainforest, but there were guards preventing people from lining up. It was only 7pm! Overall, I was only able to check out the Aquarium, Living roof, and the other exhibits. I don't think I'll go back considering its hard to get tickets for the shows. There was even a line to enter the Academy Cafe!
by Chi N. on if u got boobs... u can just walk by and they'll let u in... er before midnite tho otherwise gl tryin to get in for free... if u look classy... and look korean... be prepared to be invited over to a table to drink with them... in fact it mite even be with the owners of the club... but beware... they mite not look like it but they like to be lavish and show how much money they have... i dunno but for me thats a huge turnoff... and they'll keep buying u drinks... but walk away man... just walk away... don't stay or u'll get fcked up before u know it... music... eh people... very asian... place has high ceilings but its just way too hot... they spray mist from time to time which totally fogs up the place where u can barely see the person in front of u for a good 5 seconds... they also have people swining on ribbons like at hiro... i dunno wat to say...
