by Cherry L. on Lav Lav Lavv!! Its such a fun atmosphere! Perfect for a date/special occasion/work dinner/etc. Went once with some coworkers and once with a few friends. Both times i got the chili braised pork with homemade pappardelle. The 2nd time i was disappointed because some of the pasta were stuck together, but i forgave them bc my friends enjoyed their time there and they were swamppppped. I had also tried the skate wing (a white fleshed meat that was quite heavy...almost swordfish like) which was also really yummy). I am not a big fan of very pungent strong cheeses, but the fried goat cheese with honey and pepper is AMAZING and the saffron meat balls (which arent on the menu anymore i don think) were delish as well. Lots of my coworkers/friends go and order a ton of small plates/pizzas and such to share with an abundance of wine. I will be sure to go back and try the Sunday specials! FYI, they have valet parking around back as street parking is hard to find.
by Dick Waeckerlin on This place as stated below IS huge. The line is always freakin long whether its Asian night or just a regular night. I recommend the regular nights since there is already alot of Asian during those nights as well. So either way you get your Asian fix but dont have to deal with the young wannabe thugs during Friday nights. We luckily bypass the line most of the time but trust me, its freakin long and entrance is steep. 3 bars, an outdoor smoking patio, & 1 huge dance floor in the main room. There is another area sectioned off from the main room with a smaller dance floor, a bar, and a smaller outdoor patio. This section is also packed. The DJs are Ok, nothing that really stands out. And yes they do mix alot of hip hop with trance. The VIP section upstairs is a little bit smaller but just as spacious with a HUGE outdoor section, a bar, & a smaller dance floor. The DJs are pretty cool here but sometimes there just isn't enough ppl dancing here. Other than that, its an Ok place especially for those who don't frequent the Hollywood scene as much.
