by Natalie E. on Appearances are deceiving. My boyfriend and I planned my 30th birthday party here and there is much to be said. Dinner service - slow, slow, slow. Slow to bring drinks, refill drinks, take our entree order, bring our bill, bring back change......everything about it is slow in a room with no more than 30 seats. 10ppl for dinner having appetizers and dinner should not have to take 2 1/2 hours. Being the guest of honor, I wouldn't expect to have to go to the bar myself for a glass of wine to go with my filet. We were ready to move into the party room, let's get this show on the road! The food: wonderful!! 1 star. It appears to be a great spot for private parties, but I'd recommend waiting until there is a computer system that can help the poor servers manage their guests vs inviting our private party guests who were ensured a private server to "please go to the bar, I cannot take another order". Upon serving a tray full of drinks, she high tailed it out of the room to avoid taking any further drinks. She even turned down someone paying cash! We paid just to have this person in the room, what a disappointment. To top it off, guests were dropping like flies from the heat. It was a hot SF day, understood, but A/C seemed non existent - they claimed it was cranked, there was 1 window to stick your head out of.....at the END of the night we come to find out the thermostat was set to 80 and not one person in the building thought to check that out!! Guests left early because it was unbearable and make us sleepy. I've never been so disappointed at an SF establishment when it came to service.
