by Pearly Marrujo on All in all, not a bad place. BarChi is located in the old Yu space but has a completely different philosophy on the dining experience. Part bar, part restaurant, BarChi in my opinion straddles an awkward middle ground for the early 7-8pm dinner crowd. It is the inverse mullet of restaurants, which is to say the party is in the front (laser lights, thumping music, lit bar) while the business is in back (tables, soft lighting, kitchen-view dining) -- kind of a distracting dynamic when the place is otherwise relatively empty and quiet. Our table sampled a variety of signature sushi roll dishes, edamame, and a few rounds of drinks. The sushi was very enjoyable and particularly spicy, which is always a plus in my book. This place is pretty pricey during regular hours; it is probably best experienced late night for their ridiculously cheap 10:30pm to 1am happy hour.
by Wonda Gautreaux on LOVE the music at this place.. DJ DL. mixed the virgins, franz ferdinand, the strokes with nice club beats in the background.. sounded fantastic. He also played real house music unlike other clubs who pla "rihanna" or whoever. I loved everything about avenue (people, space, etc.) EXCEPT the bathroom line was rediculous.

We didn't have a plan of which bar to come to, we decided to just walk around and see what we would find and we came across ecco. Music was good, crowd was pretty diverse and drinks are STRONG! The first time I came I got wasted within 2 hours. I'm not sure if it was because I was pounding or the drinks were strong but wow! This was a bad night for me bc I blacked out and apparently got kick out! haha but from what I do remember of this place its cute, and they have a little cute patio in the back to get some air. I came a couple months after for my friends bachelorette and she loved it. We danced our butts off and called it a night. I like this place because Its not too crazy like a club but you can still get down here.
