by Liseth L. on I love the Mayan. This was the first nightclub that I went once I turned 21. The drinks are good and cheap. It gets really good on Fridays. The main floor is huge and amazing with really cute gogo dancers. There is a cute guy here and there, but i dont go looking for men at clubs, I just go to have a good ass time with my friends.My girls and I love going here every Friday and at times on Saturdays. Girls if you have curly hair like me and hait flat ironed, i do not recommend the third floor, bc it is hot and stuffy, I love to look my best throughout the night so main reason i avoid this floor and the same goes for the basement the hip hop room. The Mayan is my home night club but i sure hate bumping into my ex bf, he likes it too ughhh. But no man in my past will make me stop going to my club. If you want to have a good time, with a good crowd, good and cheap drinks, and great music to dance, then the mayan is the best club in Downtown L.A!!!
by Boris Gaster on I brought the Mister here for his Birthday celebration. Originally, I wanted to take him to Yoshi's but after a bit mis-communication and poor planning, we had to settle for Rassela's. The Mister loves Jazz music with a passion. Although he doesn't play any musical instruments, he has great respect for the art. Well, I didn't know this place is good for 'after dinner' drinks only. Coming here to have dinner was a big mistake! We ordered a bottle of the honey wine and beef samosas to start. The wine was way too sweet, it actually taste more like dessert wine. The beef samosas were okay, nothing to write home about never-the-less mention in my 'Rassela's review'. We shared the sampler plate with veges and meat. Aside from it being spicy, there was nothing I liked about it. Oh, and the 'Live' music doesn't start until 9 or 10 PM! We had dinner at 6:30PM. We had to eat very very slow and hung out at the lounge area after dinner to wait for the band!! Usually, I don't mind staying later but it was a weekday which means the next day is a working day!
