by daniel l. on Had great time last night and felt like I really needed to give some props to The Velvet Cantina. Came to a freinds Birthday. Had a blast! Actually planed to come in for dinner and ended up staying till 3am. Great food. Best chips and salsa I ever had. After eating ended up at bar area and drank some Margaritas. Amazing! Ordered pinapple margarita in an actual pinapple arguably the best drink I've ever had. End of the night ended up outside on this patio they have and chilled there till we left. Whoever designed the place, this is the most unbelievable estetics I've ever seen. Would desribe it as the haunted house at Disneyworld mexican style. Want to say to the person who owns it good job and thanks so much for having a great place like this in Hollywood. Good luck and congratulations on a job well done!!
by Maxwell Cools on A fantastic aquarium. I'm not a frequent aquarium goer so I can't compare against the rest of them in the world, but from what I've seen, I was truly impressed. You can tell that the aquarium is kind of big when you see it from the outside, but when you come inside you'll be amazed at the vast openness of the main space. Each of the exhibits have something cool to see and there is a great amount of signage and guides around to help explain what's going on. Do yourself a favor and download the free mp3 tour, it actually does add a lot to the experience. There are some beautiful fish and marine life on display here and you'll be competing for window space for a lot of exhibits (the sea otters fill up quick around feeding time!) It will be a bit of a hassle with big groups/crowds, but be patient and your time will come. If you can dedicate a whole day to this place, you should. Pricey yes, but worth it? I believe so! Make sure the touch the manta rays while you're here.
