i love this spot!! I'm not into the whole club scene more into lounging and this is one of my favorite spots in sf. I love the artwork on the walls and the funky fresh music they play, on certain nights. I'd recommend this spot if your lookin to listen to some old school hiphop or funk....=) LIKES: -dope music -good vibe -dope artwork -lounge -chill (no dresscode=thank god) DISLIKES: -wish it was a bit bigger -VIP isn't so great if you don't buy hella drinks (shitty vip tables) -lines sometimes get a lil too long ALL IN ALL I LOVE THIS SPOT!! GO HIT IT UP ITS ALWAYS CRACKIN!!

Last weekend I went to the Britney Spears concert at the American Airlines Arena and since we had already been drinking we decided to stay where we were instead of going out to the beach. We ended up at Bongos right behind the arena. When we got there the bouncer was super nice, he put on our wristbands and let us in (girls in free on Saturday nights). Inside the music was all reggeaton and techno, so it was entertaining but not for too long. After a little, we went out to the patio where they were playing salsa, merengue, and bachata. This seem to be the classier side of bongos full of the classic Latin culture. People were actually dancing and there wasn't any grimmy dancing like there had been inside. The drinks were awful. I ordered a mojito that was gross and a rum and coke that I couldn't even swallow... I mean how hard could it be to make that? Either way, I would go back but just for the patio. The rest of it wasn't horrible, but I got bored of it.
