by Tyesha Cruden on Heat game attendees may not know, but I'm a regular: there's a cafeteria window on the East Plaza of the American Airlines Arena! This is the only place to eat during a Miami Heat game! It's all cash, so make sure you carry, but they serve wonderful Croqueta's de Jamon, Empanadas de Carne and Pollo as well as Masitas de Puerco, Cafe Cubano and Cafe Con Leche. Prices are reasonable by stadium standards, expensive by the corner Cafeteria - $3 for 4 empanadas or croquetas, the drinks are $3 for cafe con leche or cafe cubano. In short, it's a wonderful little slice of Calle Ocho on the Miami Heat's back patio. I go there every game!
by Nicki Toussant on If I had to pick between Genos and pats Ill take genos by a slight margin. Heres why I liked the chopped steak at genos and the soft bread that held it all together, barely I must say. I docked them some stars here because the cheese was so hot that it melted the sandwich and I couldnt keep it in one peace. I know, I should eat faster but I wanted to enjoy this! Also the owner is a bit of an ass, but thats kinda his schtick so I guess he has to act the part for the tourists.
by Rachel s. on Picture this: Sunday afternoon & the rest of the city hangs in fog but the Mission? Blue skied and thumbs up. We head out to the awesome patio for some live music ( stand up bass AND trumpet featured :) and salsa dancing. Wow.. How fun was that! All kinds of people (my friends and i made bets like horse racing on who was going to be the best salsa dancer of the crowd before it started... i sorely lost, but on a technical error..my girl's boyfriend was in the band, hence not enough time on the floor!). Had opportunity to dance with various partners and a range of skills, always fun to be a girl-- i'm not really expected to have any skill (excellent since this IS in question ;), and there were some excellent leads here (and some not-so-awesome.. but the dance always ends!) We enjoyed, took in some sunday blue sky and musica.. I see a return visit in my near futuro.
