by Monica Raethke on I like Silk. I've had some great times here, and some just decent times as well. But overall, this is a good staple in the Libs for breakfast, reasonably priced drinks, and a cool place to dance. --Breakfast: I really LOVE the CHEESE GRITS here. I think people caught on though because now the portion size is smaller :-(. I also order my eggs "over-medium" and the last time I was there they were cooked perfectly! Tip: Don't sit in the club/bar part for breakfast (dark, dingy, and smells like beer). Unless you are absolutely starving, wait for a table in the main diner (much better atmosphere!) ---Drinks: The Beer Garden is such a nice place to chill in the summer. You can literally sit there for hours and unwind. Besides beer, the strawberry basil margarita is quite tasty. ----Bar/Club: Cool on Thursday nights for hip-hop, yet the crowd can get a little rowdy (nothing I can't handle ;-) ) and the guest DJs are sometimes disappointing. I know that music is a very subjective thing--I just don't like it when a DJ plays House music allllll night: HEADACHE lol!). Nevertheless, it's a cool place to get some cheap drinks and spend like an hour or two before you hop to somewhere else. Still got to try that Sweet Potato Waffle and Fried Chicken combo---sounds damn good!
by Krystal S. on I love mexican food they always have the best food and drinks but unfortunately when my husband and I went here our expectations where not meet at all ! This place is nice the service was great but the food was horrible :-( I will never go here again we don't mind spending money when enjoying a night out but if the food has to be this bad I'd rather go to taco bell!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, so it's small, but why people are getting so angry about the fact that it's cramped and small, um, I dunno. Indeed, it'd be nice to have a dance floor somewhere in there, but we still had a blast. The night I went we had a table in front. Solid service that was prompt and attentive. Some of the bar staff has been together for awhile, (since the Fluid days, lol), so they should have their game down. The door staff were accommodating to my entire party, even as some (of equal ratio) showed-up later on. Huuuuuuuuuuuge cavernous smoking area, if you're into that sort of thing. Clean bathrooms, though I imaging that there could be a couple more to satisfy the onslaught of faded people come 1AM. I didn't mind it, but I'm a guy. lol. Definitely going back. Again, the folks working and promoting there are ridiculously cool, genuine people whom know how it's done. It's a small place that gets cozy (aka tight), but just chill and realize that the faded guy bumping into you isn't there to ruin your night. LV
