As I was walking back to the office I looked at the menu posted outside Club NV and saw Spicy Pork as a meat option and thought it was Al Pastor. A sign on the door stated that they were open and to order at the bar. I had just had lunch at Spice Kit across the street, but to do my al pastor duty, I entered. I saw some tiny people on the far side of the dimly lit building with one of them motioning to me. Luckily they got more normal sized after crossing the dance floor! Ordered up a spicy pork taco ($3) . $3.50 if you want it "Fat"tened up (Guac, Sour Cream, Beans, Cheese). Not al pastor. It turned out to be roasted / shredded pork like carnitas with some spicy sauce mixed in. I also forgot to ask for no cilantro, but luckily the flavor of the minced cilantro was not too strong (see pic) It was a nice amount of meat . . . Fat at over 2 inch around when picked up, which made up for the $3 price a bit. Moist, but the hot sauce really overwhelmed the pork.

I just started a new job near Anderson Mill and Shoal Creek, and some of the girls from my office and I have started going to Cover 3 weekly. Being the sort of girls who enjoy pricey cocktails and lightly fried food, it's a good match. We try to get there by 5:30 or 6:00 - after that, it gets so packed that getting a table becomes nigh on impossible. We prefer the upstairs lounge - it's easy to grab a couch, way more comfortable after three martinis than a bar stool. (the baseball on the flat screens is a secret bonus for me!) The only problem? Two waiters for the upstairs lounge is just not enough. This past Friday, we were celebrating a promotion. I ordered a good bottle of sparkling wine, and it took 45 minutes for it to be delivered to the table. We were all excited to toast Jill, but ended up deflating, surrounded by empty glasses. An order of fries took just as long to arrive, and a last minute cheesecake was totally left off the tab, and one girl ended up waiting for it to-go. their happy hour is pretty decent- $3 off food, $2 off any liquor, and $1 off beer and wine. Their beer menu leaves a lot to be desired, but the wine menu has an acceptable selection of wines available by the glass. On past visits, their calamari has been great, and the chicken sliders excellent. You're guaranteed to get excellent drinks, and consistently tasty food, if you're willing to wait for it - and put up with the noise.

Get away from the typical scene of Atlanta and check out MJQ. With 2 different vibes of music coming from 2 different tunnels, this is an experience like never before. This is a place you don't have to impress anybody. Get ready to see the people you've never witnessed seeing during the daytime. I like Sloppy Seconds, held on the 2nd Saturday of each month. Different theme everytime too. Who can't forget? CHEAP DRINKS! DJs that come and go to this underground joint plays the greatest music... anything from old school to hip hop, even top 40's from today. Don't expect someone to give you paper towels in the bathroom either- or for the bathroom to even have paper towels. This place is far beyond "perfect".
