by Isabella Buttray on Nick's has great, though high-priced tacos. I'm especially fond of the fish. All can be served "Nick's Way" which involves both soft and hard shells, plus guacamole. Their horchata is tasty. Squeeze bottles of spicy sauce are around for the customer to squirt at their discretion. One bottle is rust red, the other is snot green. Both are flavorful. If you like red velvet, you'll enjoy the atmosphere. It's basically a club with tables. During broadcast games of sport and weekend evenings, the place is packed and noisy. Personally, I enjoy the place much more when it's not crowded.
by Kate W. on This is a favorite go-to spot for happy hour with my co-workers. We love the 1/2 price pizzas (the white pizza is super yummy!), and the cheap pints of Lonestar. Another positive -- close to downtown with lots of parking (lot/street). The atmosphere is very laid-back, which is a pro and a con. The service tends to lean slightly towards neglectful, so indecisive and/or impatient patrons may want to avoid this dining experience.
by Georgianne Haymon on I'm giving a Shout-out for today's lunch! Three reasons why: 1 The calamari! I am a picky girl about my squid, and so is my dear friend and lunch companion. We both agreed that our dish was perfectly cooked (no one likes rubber bands masquerading as calamari, right?), and the aioli and marinara were both delicious, plus my friend liked the fresh jalapenos tossed in. 2 The chicken empanadas! On the tapas menu, two empanadas served over fresh chopped tomatoes and corn (like a chilled little salad). Yummy! 3 Firefly, served over ice with a splash of water and a twist of lemon. Enough said. Surprisingly, given our 11:30-ish arrival and 1pm departure, the place wasn't crowded. Service was attentive (we ate at the bar) and despite having to pay-to-park (a bit pricey at Colony Square since there's no valet at lunch), the atmosphere was worth it- great for chatting, catching up and getting ready for a good weekend! If you're not inclined to be part of "The Scene" this place can be given to at night . . . try lunch!
