I'm the first to admit that my opinion of Trudy's is more than biased, given that it was practically my second home during college. My friend and I used to joke that one of us would have to name a child Trudy (which was vastly preferred over our beverage of choice, the Mexican Martini), given the amount of time we spent here. In all honesty, the food isn't that amazing, with a few exceptions. The chips and red salsa are pretty fantastic. And I have yet to find a place whose cheese enchiladas with verde sauce I prefer over Trudy's. Oh, and did I mention the Mexican Martini yet? It's delicious. Plus, after one of those babies, who cares how good the food is.

Great date place. It's located in a half-sketchy area though, but a plus is that they have their own parking lot next to the building. Of course I fell in love with the decor (exposed brick walls and deep, dark woods). I felt like I had been transported back to DC or NY (My old stomping grounds). The night that I went, there was a really great band that played R&B cover songs. Try to get there early so you don't have to sit right next to the stage. I ordered a drink and some plantains (already had dinner) and both were to die for! They have a good menu selection, including chocolate covered chicken wings (um, just a tad too adventurous for even me).
