by Renea Tomspon on I was visiting Austin for SXSWi and met up with some friends who are expatriates from Kansas. We ambled up and down 6th street looking for a bar that had the Kansas State vs. Kansas game and we finally made it into Buffalo Billiards. The bartenders and the clients are definitely what made it a great time. The bartenders were nice enough to let us sit at the bar while they switched on the game...on their gigantic screen above the bar. The bartenders working that night were Faith, Chris and Jack and they kept our beers flowing, our fried foods coming and provided some great interaction. The beer specials for SXSW were pretty good, too, and it didn't hurt as much when we got our bill (there were about a dozen people in our group). Will definitely stop by again for either ACL or another SXSW.
by joseluis a. on it had been a fun night alredy, middlesex lounge was our last destination of the night and we only decided to check it out after a friends suggestion monday night, i guess it was gay night? mmm kinda weird night.... please dont judge me. you must understand. im from miami, where gay people are really really gay. not just kind-of-gay. so, gay night at the middlesex lounge was mild. too mild. there were of course very few girls but the very few who were there were also so.. idontknow. mellow? girls who go to gay bars in miami are fuckin crazy. so that; plus the crappy sound system and the outdated music got us to leave middlesex very soon after my friends finished their first and only drink. not sure if i would go back.
