by Leonel Dewispelaere on This nightclub is ....decent. It is located in the heart of San Francisco and easy to find. The cover charge on most nights is $20! Outrageous. THE NUMBER ONE THING THAT I DO NOT LIKE ABOUT THIS CLUB IS THE HIGH DECIBEL ON THEIR SPEAKERS! Holy moly, it is superrr loud. My friends and I got tinnitus the next day. It is SO bad. The drinks are pretty watered down. However, their bathrooms are clean and plentiful. There are also people in the bathroom to help direct where you should go. This helps when you're drunk. Overall, I probably won't come back.
by Jezzie X. on We stumbled into STK next door thinking it was Tenjune, then coming back out disappointed it wasn't Tenjune. Anyway, the real Tenjune is almost as nice. Music was top-notch remixed Top 40 pop and the crowd was freaky energized, and I'm pretty sure some band I should've realized was famous was celebrating a birthday party in the VIP area. Apparently this is a popular place for celeb hangouts, and my friend swore she saw Adriene from Encourage. It got really sticky and crowded around 2:30AM so we scrammed, but I could've danced all night. Music was AWESOME!!! Somehow we got in without cover so I can safely vouch for the general leniency of the bouncers, although there were groups of guys outside bargaining for bottles so they can come in with a group...
by John Chittum on So, everyone has been talking about this new burger place Flip that Richard Blaise created and I totally wanted to try it out. I didn't watch that season of Top Chef, but the theme of this restaurant seemed too good to pass up. I went for lunch on a Friday and there was already a wait at 11:30 am. My friend and I were seated at the small bar in front of the kitchen window where they plate all of the food. I totally recommend this location. It seemed like the best spot in the restaurant. The chef plated the food right before us and it was cool to see the atmosphere in the kitchen. To start, my friend and I both got the nutella milkshake with burnt marshmellows on top. It was amazing! You need to try it. We saw a lot of people ordering the absinthe milkshake and while it looked cool, I am not sure how that would taste... For the main course, I had the rBQ burger with brisket and coleslaw and rBQ sauce. It was delicious. The burger was perfectly cooked and the toppings were a great complement. If I had one complaint, it would be the bun being too greasy. Other than that, everything was fine. I also had the sweet potato tots which were a perfect side. My friend got the corned beef burger which had a fried egg on top. Sorta weird, but delicious. The crispy rutabagas on the side were awesome too. The food took forever to come out it seemed, but the place was packed. The chef plating the food was entertaining to watch and very friendly. He asked how we were doing and if we had been to the restaurant before. The server was also very pleasant, so overall, the service was pretty good. Parking is pretty limited, but you can park on the street next to the restaurant. The meal cost about 30 something dollars between the two of us and that's a little pricey, but definitely worth it. The portions were a good size, so you don't leave feeling too full. Good thing I live like three miles away because I will be a frequent diner at FLIP. There are so many other choices on the menu that looked tasty, so I will probably never get bored with it. Besides, burgers never get old.
