Got a room Saturday night and had dinner reservations at Drais for 9pm. Atmosphere beautiful, but service sucked. I went with 6 girls and they sat us outside in the Cabana near the pool. The service was terrible. We had to ask for napkins, silverware and repeatedly asked for the heater to be turned on. No one came over to ask us if we need anything or if we are enjoying our food. For the price of this menu, I expect the service to be top notch!

I freaking love this place. There was some good music, but there was also some bad music...went to Root Down. Free if you RSVP before 7pm (BONUS!). $3.00 Red Stripes before 11...If you like to shake your thang..I highly suggest a visit ;)

I've waited a while to write this review because I couldn't figure out how to break it down into a simple piece of writing vs. the novel I could probably write, so I will do my best. The Scenario: Ten days of work straight, no days off, colleagues & I ready for a night out. News Flash: Salsa convention in town... The players: 2 black women- one from the south the other from Detroit, 1 white passing Peruvian gentleman who is the salsa king, 1 6ft cornrowed coiffed black man from Vallejo, 1 short black man from Oakland with a jealous girlfriend, myself. We met as the southerner got off of work, and headed to Cafe Cocomo on a Saturday night. The two black gentlemen would meet us. Fast forward, to Cocomo. A huge dance hall, with upstairs bar, outdoor patio that resembles an outdoor cafe or restaurant somewhere tropical. Phone tag in-sues with those we are waiting for, Peruvian gentleman with three lovely dates for the evening gets to take turns spinning and twirling each of us three inebriated ladies. As I twirled around like a spinning top all evening and was the sole person playing tag with our yet to be seen friends, I realized a few things about Cocomo. A) Yes the crowd is Salsa-rific, but I could certainly show them a thing or two. (I lie, only when there was a song I could merenge to did I get up on my high horse). B) Although it was a slow Saturday the set up was indeed nice, but I could not satisfy that dancing bug all the hours at the job had created. C) The taco/food stand is ingenious. It settled the roller coaster ridden stomach feeling I had developed from spinning so much with my Peruano coworker. D) Ever unsure what to do when people ask me to dance, I never felt pressure to say yes, or no to gentlemen I didn't know who approached. I must say however, excessive winking and pointing back and forth between myself and your friend will not garner you a dance. Alas, we never saw our friends due to some unforeseen drama but enjoyed the fact that there were so many options of how to pass our time waiting for their calls. Yes we were there to salsa, but it was nice to also people watch, indoors and out, and nice to feel like we weren't stuck in San Francisco for a night. We'll probably be back.
