Best place for $20 cocktails and probably the best hotel bar. Ambiance / Decor: The space is absoluetly gorgeous. Unlike cocktails at the Four Seasons Hotel, Mandarin Hotel, Cellar Bar (Bryant Park Hotel), W Bars (W Hotels), etc., you know where your $20 is going. It goes to one of the best views in the city, large layout, a lot of seating, swanky figure-8 bar, an interesting elevator ride, tall anorexic "model" hostesses, and my favorite bathroom in in the world. The bar, while not a great layout for bar tenders (always bumping into eachother) is great for drinkers due to the amount of bar space available. Majority of the seating (aisles of couches) faces southwest, so you can see the sunset over the Hudson river into Snookie-ville. There is also some seating that faces Northeast, with a cool little pod-section, and a fireplace. My only complaint about the decor, is the small amount of table space in the couch area. The bathroom... all i can say is wow. Nothing like going to the bathroom and having a great view of Manhattan. Imagine a trendy black-tile bathroom, with a view, and decent lighting. Service: The anorexic part-time models / hostesses were surpisingly very nice, courteous, and professional. Unlike most other places in MePa where the hosts / hostesses compete for the biggest d-bag award. I'll warn that the part-time models / hostesses / waitresses had pretty skimpy dresses on (similar to what J-Woww wears on Jersey Shore), and my girlfriend must have caught me looking a few times. The bar is a little slow due to not enough bartenders and also the fact that the bartenders keep bumping into eachother (see above). Drinks: I'm a simple guy, so I stook with the Manhattan ($18), which was good and had a lot of alcohol. At the end of the day it tastes like a Manhattan though. My girlfriend had an Aviation cocktail ($18), and guess what? It tasted like an Aviation cocktail. Overall: Should you go here for have mind-blowing cocktails? No, you go to Pegu club or Death & Co. for that. Normal decent-sized cocktails with a great view and lots of eye candy, those are the reasons you go to Boom Boom Room. Actually those are the only reasons to come to MePa.

AWESOME! They are so good! I have to admit, being a tourist, I was going to go to Pat's (yes, i have read that other places in the city are better, but for my first time I had to do the tourist thing, kinda like TGIFridays in Times Square). I figured the line would be long, but Pats literally had a line wrapped ALL THE WAY around the building, and I was too hungry to wait. So we went over to Geno's which had a smaller line. I waited only about 20 minutes. One of the things I noticed was that the whole area was very clean. I would not expect that from a place that churns out cheesesteaks nonstop. I ordered 'whiz wit' to use the local term. I wanted to go with the classic, and it was fantastic! AWESOME! I am thinking about it and getting the same desires as I get when i think of Shake Shack in NYC, or Grimaldis in Hoboken. Just a yearning for....Yeah Im gonna have to make another philly run soon to get more. My only regret, is that I should have ordered two or three (because they were that good and i am that fat!). Hey, live and learn...
