by Jezzie X. on We stumbled into STK next door thinking it was Tenjune, then coming back out disappointed it wasn't Tenjune. Anyway, the real Tenjune is almost as nice. Music was top-notch remixed Top 40 pop and the crowd was freaky energized, and I'm pretty sure some band I should've realized was famous was celebrating a birthday party in the VIP area. Apparently this is a popular place for celeb hangouts, and my friend swore she saw Adriene from Encourage. It got really sticky and crowded around 2:30AM so we scrammed, but I could've danced all night. Music was AWESOME!!! Somehow we got in without cover so I can safely vouch for the general leniency of the bouncers, although there were groups of guys outside bargaining for bottles so they can come in with a group...
by Halina Rubalcaba on My 30th birthday, my friend takes me to a club in SOMA because I was feeling old, and Leisure did the trick. I felt like the youngest person in the room (and there was a group of people from my high school who were a couple years ahead of me, so I know this is at least partially true)! The dance floor was super crowded (not a bad thing), but small, cramped and really hot (bad things). There was a lot of bass, but insufficient treble so that it actually sounded like music. Pluses: The women's bathroom had toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, and didn't smell. There's karaoke in the back room, and a big noise drop-off when not on the dance floor (it is possible to have a conversation in the bar area). $7 cover, $2 coat check.
by Barbera Stroffolino on Good gathering place to meet friends for a quick drink before going to the movies. We did end up here after the movie as well -- shot some pool and had more drinks. Drinks - would probably stick with the beer. Cocktails are a bit steep, and just ok. I would recommend this place as a side place to meeting friends before/after going to the movies....or if you want to shoot pool!
