I had so much fun eating here last night. Everyone that works at Zahav was genuinely interested in their roles and your complete dining experience. It's safe to say I have a crush on every single employee (male and female) in this restaurant. The place was jammed. It was a frickin Tuesday. I recommend a week night, a reservation, and go hungry. Just go.

Rateclub Drink Week SF Stop 1 out of 3 Pat and I were starving, the menu looked promising, but most important, it was on the drink week list. I had a Mint Smash drink to start and WOW, I never get buzzed within 15 minutes off of half a drink! It resembled a mojito with a bit more ice and MUCH more booze. It made me super happy, very well crafted by the bartender. We shared house sauce trio with rosemary toast, broccoli rabe salad (Pat's selections) fried burrata cheese and butternut squash risotto (my picks). The toast was mediocre and nothing special, I thought the ciabetta bread that came with the butter was better than the toast itself. The sauces were alright, not one really stuck a chord with me. It was my first time trying broccoli rabe in general, I enjoyed the texture and they were very generous with the shaved parmesan on top. The fried burrata cheese was my favorite out of all the dishes (being the cheese fan that I am) with a very large portion and the texture being just right, cooked just perfectly. And the butternut squash risotto was super creamy and buttery, had the comfort food type of feel. The decor was classy yet simple. There was a stage in the corner for the jazz acts, we did not stay to see the show. And the bathrooms were clean and well-stocked. But what gave this restaurant that extra star to make it 5/5 was the service. Our waiter was very kind, patient, and he even warned us how we ordered too much food to have on our table at once! The owner stopped at our table to see how things were going. But that one busboy, the larger Hispanic gentleman, really pleasantly surprised me. As I was putting on my coat, halfway through, he came around and grabbed the other side of my coat to help me get it on. I've never experienced that before and thought that he was going way above and beyond his duties; that really blew me away. And he even ran out of the restaurant after Pat since he left his phone on the table! If that's not top notch service, I don't know what is. Take a trek to Coda, they'll treat you well and your taste buds will thank you.
