by Ethan R. on This place isn't getting 5 stars just because of a confusion regarding the prices and lack of men making out. One of my besties (female) wanted to celebrate her birthday. She liked techno, so we rateclubsed around and found this place. The pics on the website led her to believe she could ogle men all night for a super cheap admission. When we got there we found the cheap place with all the guys was the club next door. I'm more into girls anyways, so I was fine with it. The dance floor was tons of fun and the bartenders were awesome. One of them was mixing me custom 'fuck you up' drinks by the end of the night. Great atmosphere, great techno. This place even has you covered on the way out. Bacon wrapped hot dog stand right out by the exit. Gooooooood yes, drunk munchies fulfilled.

It all started with the one that used to be in Portland, Oregon, then Seattle, Denver and Cincinnati, but by far, my favorite was the old Fado in Buckhead. My friends and I have had a lot of good times here. So, imagine my disappointment, when I first pulled up to the new contemporary building of Fado. No longer that charming dark cottage feel with the cobblestone floors weaving through nooks and crannies of secluded seating area's. Although disappointed initially, I do rather like it. As other reviews mention it is very clean, airy and cleverly incorporates the Irish decor into its contemporary architecture. I think my favorite feature of the new building is the rooftop deck, which was quite popular this past Friday night. Speaking of Friday night, it was packed with quite an eclectic mix of people. If you love to people watch, I recommend sitting on the second level where a steady flow of people pass to and from the roof top deck, while at the same time overlooking the masses on the main floor. I have been here a few times for happy hour and it is pretty steady during the week. It is busy, but the patrons and staff are still all very friendly and outgoing. As a matter of fact, I had to laugh when I read Aanal's review, because I had had a conversation with the same character as she described. He must be a regular, as I have seen him each time I have been to this Fado. Most importantly, Fado still has a generous mix of foreign beers, as well as a full bar. The menu hasn't changed and is your standard pub food. I think my favorites are the Guinness Wings and the BBQ Chicken Sandwich. Friends have raved about the pot pie and it does look delicious, but I have never tried it. In perspective, it is not the old Fado, but I look forward to making new memories at the new Fado....See you there!
