by Will W. on I've only been to Circus on Friday nights (that's when it's a gay club) but every time I've been I've always had a blast. If you're driving down Santa Monica Blvd. you'll probably drive right past Circus unless you're watching for it, because it's tucked behind Arena Nightclub. But fear not, do not let the club's outward appearance fool you. It is an absolutely massive club, with 3 dance floor and one area for live performances. There's also bars spread out across the club. Although Circus Disco is technically Latin club, you'll find a good mix of people of all ethnicities. Cover charge is generally $12 (which I don't mind paying) and drinks are decently priced and sized. There is street parking in the nearby residential areas, but I've never had success parking there. I really don't mind coughing up the $10 to park in a lot adjacent to Circus/Arena. That short walk once saved a friend of mine who got a little too intoxicated! Regarding the club itself, you won't be disappointed with the on stage entertainment, lots of hot hot HOT go-go dancers who work hard for their tips. One thing to keep in mind (which seems to be a recurring theme with gay clubs) is that if you arrive a little early (before 11:30 PM) do not be fooled by the lack of people. As it nears midnight, you'll see the dance floors quickly fill with people. Circus does not pretend to be a high class glitzy club. There's no VIP section, no reserved seating, no bottle service. It's just an awesome place to go, dance your ass with friends and meet some very interesting people. I highly recommend you consider going here and skipping the craziness of West Hollywood.
