by David L. on Another great art deco theater in the heart of downtown los angeles. Built in the 20s, the Orpheum has been featured in many Hollywood movies, and is a good small concert venue. Be aware that you are blocks from Skid Row, and as such, make sure you don't park too far away from the theater, and don't walk to your car alone at midnight. One more thing: Although it is very fancy inside, the bathrooms aren't as well kept up. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful place to see a show. I recommend getting seats as close to the stage as possible, as the Orpheum floor has been used for dancing, so it doesn't slope towards the stage as much as the larger venues.
by Janee Pavis on the only things i require at tournament time are tv's and alcohol. everything else is secondary. this place has both, including a very very large projection tv. that pretty much sold me on it. otherwise it is an overpriced and overly fancy tourist- and yuppie-filled sports bar. did i mention overpriced?
