by Melvin W. on One would think that there would be many more places that spin real hip hop being the birthplace of this genre. Every venue I go to nowadays, DJ's play the garbage that's on the airwaves now. If you like real classic hip hop or DJ's with a good repertoire of music to bring you back in the days, you won't be disappointed. Only downside is the size of the damn place. Friday and Saturday nights are packed sardine nights. I usually frequent Thursdays to dance my ass off. Did I mention there's no dress code either? Being that it's my favorite place I spoke to Malik the manager about holding my 20th (30's the new 20) birthday there. Him and the crew were more than accommadating to us.
by Chan K. on When I'm back in Austin, Trudy's and Salt Lick are the only places that I HAVE TO go. Many weekends started with Friday happy hour/dinner at this place. Great Tex-Mex. House salsa is great. Pretty much anything on the menu is awesome. Only negative is that it gets TOO busy during prime hours.
