by Shannon K. on The rooftop bar (Sky Terrace) at Medjool is amazing for a SF rooftop bar. Be sure to sit under the makeshift canopy or at least near a heat lamp because the rooftop bar can get cold. If you arrive around 9:45 pm, you'll definitely find seating under one of the heat lamps, and the view is fantastic. You can see a panoramic view of the city from the Bay Bridge to Downtown. LOVE it. It's funny though-- to get to the rooftop bar, you have to go through a sketchy looking hotel, which is right next to the Restaurant Medjool. I guess Medjool is has easement across the hotel lobby so that its guests can use the elevator to get to the rooftop bar. The drinks and appetizers (hummis plate) are good. No one really comes to the rooftop bar for a whole meal (go downstairs for food or come after dinner). Drinks range from $8-9 (for cocktails and alcohol) and more for wine. I haven't eaten at the Medjool Restaurant, but it looks really nice (and fancy). Interestingly, I went on a Saturday and the restaurant wasn't that crowded, whereas other restaurants in the area (e.g., I had called Foreign Cinema and the House of Prime Rib) were completely booked. At night, Medjool (the restaurant portion) turns into a "club" with poppin' music and TONS of Asian clubbers. And I mean TONS.

Went there to celebrate my friend's birthday and mine, but NO SERVICE GIVEN. we waited in line for at least and hour and a half, close to 2 hours and still nothing. we were on the guest list as well, but being on it got us crap. didnt mind paying for a cover either. we had people in line even before 1030 and still we didnt get it. we were about 30+ people waiting in line to get in yet the bouncers were letting other people in cut in front of us. Totally unfair and uncalled for. To Opera, how rude and ridiculous....you LOST A LOT OF MONEY that night... too bad.... Busbys however was very polite and kind- had no line to wait in- and the service was great-FUN TIMES!!!!
by Shaniqua Tetu on been to little temple too many times to count! i even went for their new year's eve party last year - only $15 cover, free champagne, friendly faces & super hot music all night. i wouldn't be against going again. on sundays, this is a nice place to just lounge with friends or a date, nurse a couple of drinks & nod your head to reggae. thursday through saturday nights, expect a laid back, eclectic, non-pretentious crowd (& i mean crowd!) & most of the people are actually there for the music & dancing, rather than to grope & pick up hawt drunk chicks... 'most,' i said. they play good, non-top 40 stuff here that's actually danceable, including soul, reggae, funk, latin, hip hop & various others bred from or related to already-said genres. drinks are usually pretty good, as in ok to strong. i've never had anything weak here. & cover ranges from ladies free before 10:30pm to $7. little temple isn't for everyone, especially not giant warehouse million-dollar sound system hollywood club types. people here are cool but not elitist & some are shining examples of ghetto fab. even the bouncers are friendly. yes, parking is a downer, but chin up! you can reward yourself with greasy fries at the joint across the street after you've trekked from the spot you found all the way up virgil!
