by Räv V. on Came here with a group for a birthday. My birthday. I wanted to try a new place that I would never normally go to. It turned out to be better than expected. With that said, the drinks where strong and the crowd was interesting. Lots of good mash-ups and there was even a live band. Walking in I remember a main room with a stage and an upstairs area that looked down. There were either one or two other rooms in the back too. People watching heaven here and the mix was total SF. They also had a Absinthe bar but that shit tasted nasty imo. The bartender guy was obviously drunk and hooking it up. That night I got wasted. But I remember the following..... - chick dancing to another beat in front of the mirror - the biggest chick i've ever seen sporting a corset - old perv guy dancing doesn't care you're watching him - some couples like to be watched while they do it in the corner - absinthe is disgusting no matter how drunk you are - whiskey shot coming out of your nose screws up your sinuses - lots of bootie grabbing..and i wasn't the one doing it! - big hairy leather dudes are sweaty and smelly - that one chick was not a chick - after you throw up you feel alot better This night it was called Bootie. Either its a gay theme or a pirate theme but wait isn't that redundant? Just know it's located in a questionable neighborhood, especially for the ladies. Regardless we all had a great time. I'd come back for drinks and good mashups.
by Sade Dewit on My general thought pattern of anything on W. 27th street is these are Wal-Marts of the club going world, sans the low-prices. They are like the big box, impersonal retailers that shove as many people as possible into their establishment and just wait to be shut down for violating some type of rule or restriction. Sound familiar!? Home is no better. I went here for a private party on a Monday night--the party was great and I had an amazing time, but this didn't have anything to do with Home. The coat check was $3 and the little man that grabbed my jacket had a 'tude that was larger than life. The drinks were eh--they gave my friend a rum and pineapple juice(EW!) instead of vodka and soda with a spalsh of pj, and if you turned the lights on in this place, it would be a dirthole. I rubbed my arm against a wall and i kid you not--black soot was on my arm. GROSS. The party was great, but what I do like about HOME are the large couches that make up the parameter of the two different rooms and the terrace which is awesome and has a ton of seating and tables. I'm sure thats great in the summer time, but i'm sure it gets packed as well. All in all, unless i am going to a party with an open bar and my friends in tow, i'm not stepping into Wal-Mart..err...Home, ever again.
