Ruby Skye, not a bad place to go. With any club there are going to be pros and cons but with Ruby Skye there are more pros. For me it is a nice looking club and they generally have top notch DJ's in spinning, which is a plus. It is a two story artistic style night club, which makes for a good visual while you are hanging with friends/dancing. If you are not into high energy/techno/trance music then this place might not be for you. It would probably be best to get there earlier if you are going for the first time as this place can get pretty crowded and that may take away from the excitement factor. No one wants to constantly have to move out of the way of others walking in front of them.

Ain't no need for haterade towards ethnicities, folks, you should know better than to live in the Bay Area then turn around and have a problem with "heavily Asian" in any location. If that's your issue move to Alabama. I don't hear you talking smack about seeing too many Latinos, of which there are plenty in the clubs, too. I'm for equal-opportunity entertainment, folks, and I will booty bump a black booty, a white booty, an asian booty, and a latino booty, as long as the music's good. But alas, it isn't. And for those complaining about the decor, they're right. Me and my (mixed) group of friends came here in 2003 and had a sad time. At the time we were new to clubbing (late bloomers) and were testing the tepid waters. The water here was stagnant, growing mold, and nasty. We left, vowing to never come back. However, we did get plenty drunk and my friend did get up on the bar and dance. But the music and the scene weren't worth it. This same friend is now a gogodancer (wonder of wonders!) for sfclubs and got us in to Rouge for free this St. Patty's Day weekend. It was totally lame. Bartenders are cute, fast. I paid $8 for mimosas (the only think that can get me drunk now). But the music. OH THE MUSIC IS BAD. yes yes. no no. it blows. Apparently it is the same DJ from old posts, because this douche thinks he is DJ AM but has no rhythm, no style, no sense of quality, and no sense of mood or timing. All of which are required for a DJ. Confirmed, he tries to mix rock with techno and PRETEND he's going ot play some hiphop but it's only a tease. No top 40, no commitment. I think he's a techno DJ masquerading as mainstream entertainment and he is full of LIEZ. He should have his fingers ripped off. Kick him out, I say. Send him shooshoo. Bye bye, hasta, git thee to funeral home, where you should lay down and DIE. Anyway. Here is the clincher: The Douche DJ played "Culo" (Pitbull) FOUR TIMES in 1.5 hours. When they hit #4 we bounced and found a much better club. Note on size - it is actually pretty big for the standard of "lounges" and "bars" in SF. They are the corner building which also gives them more room than standard. Bathrooms are behind the bar and dance floor (awkward, you have to get around staff to get to the bathroom). Ladies' has two messy, but totally spacious stalls. I like the chandeliers. I think they're trying to do a red version of Body English but they're just worn down, used up, and in need of, as others have mentioned, a renovation. What they're most in need of, though, is a FRICKING NEW DJ.
