by Jason S. on Have to agree with Rebecca D this place fucking rocks on Monday nights! It literally saved Monday's in the Castro for me. We used to just go to QBar for $1 wells but it was getting old so now we start out at QBar (which is still cool before 11) then head over to Trigger for the music and the good vibes. I wish I could link to my FB photos so you could see all the hawt and fun peeps we've meet there. The staff goes out of the way to put on a good show and I love the videos that play with the songs. The drink prices are good and make sure to checkout the specials or see if they have any sponsors that week. Anyway see you there tonight!
by Alex Overbaugh on - a weekend night lounge review - ----What? They are out of elderflower liqueur? WTF, it is not even perishable, how hard could it be to manage the inventory of frickin' bottled liquor??? (so my friend got me a caipirinha) ----Wait, what is this? This tastes nothing like caipirinha! It doesn't even taste like it's got any liquor in it! *10 minutes later* ----OK, I need some DRINKS....this sugar water thing isn't doing anything for me. (so my friend suggests, how about a Manhattan?) OK, yeah, please get me a Manhattan. (*he returns from the bar* "they don't carry any bitters") ----WTF! How in the hell does a bar not carry bitters AND be out of elderflower liqueur? What do they have, really? *looks at the drink menu* OK, I guess I can do mojitos maybe...(to which my friend replies, "the bartender said they were out of mojitos") ----What! They have all these flavored mojitos on their menu; obviously they are trying to cater to the mainstream girly girls by offering these things. Look, these flavored mojitos are obviously presented as the highlight of their drink menu. And they are out of it? What is the management doing? *looks around* Well, it's still packed...maybe they can get away with sloppy inventory control and bad drinks...it's packed anyway...packed with youngens who are just happy that they are at a bar having vodka/cran. *feel old and reminisce about being 21* OK, can you please get me a glass of vueve? They have it on their menu. If out, please get me the Moet Whitestar. Thanks. ---(my friend returns with a glass of something) *sips glass of sparkling something* *frowns* Were they out of vueve? (my friend explains that the bartender didn't/couldn't differentiate the 4 kinds of "champagnes" on the menu) ---(my friend mentions that the bartender was not even apologetic and had some major attitude while informing him that they were out of everything.) NEVER AGAIN.
by Vaughn Fournet on This is a really cool venue. I've only been here for a "Prepare for the Playa" pre-Burning Man party where the club inside and out was taken over by local vendors selling clothing, accessories, supplies, equipment and eco-friendly products of every variety that you might need to survive out on the Playa. The event was free and open to all ages, and it was like a funky trade show more than anything, half outdoors and half indoors. It was fun, but the ultimate tease for me to see everyone pumped up for Burning Man which as the following week, and I was all bitter because school, work and my internship got in the way. I did partake in the shopping though, picking up a few fun items to save for next year's burn because I'll graduate college next summer so it won't get in the way. Despite the crowd, the layout was decent and the flow of traffic was good and booths were easily accessible. The bars were open and had vodka specials, I think Effen was there promoting and making fresh fruit cocktails with the purchase of a shot, and the tacos were delicious.
