I love this place. It's a true dive bar, and it's especially awesome when you've had a bad day. On the day that I was laid-off, I decided to feel better about myself by visiting the 21 Club and it worked! -I was instantly the cutest chick there. -I was reminded that I should be grateful that I have all of my teeth. -I enjoyed the "Hey Soul" classics on the J-box AND... -A homeless man bought me a drink. I'll admit that I was thrown into a moral quandary, then I asked myself, "What would Miss Manners do if a homeless man offered to buy her a drink?" I quickly rationalized that Miss Manners would accept. Because even at 21 Club...MANNERS MATTER.

Worth going to once. It serves dinner, but definitely is not a place you want to eat at. The food is served on the same beds everyone jumped up and down on the night before. Drinks are ok, but nothing worth coming back for. Thursday nights are entertaining.

[updated Feb 2007] I just made it back to Sullivan now that they've reopened. It's still great -- top house music, top sound, great/polite/post-rave crowd, not too stiff covers. They just did renovations but, to be honest, it didn't look any different. Perhaps the seats and tables are new - you won't need them, because you're coming here to sweat to some of the best house in NY.
