New Yorker Gentleman's Club - About Us

by michelle r. on This is the creepiest, most Ghetto place EVER. Two months ago My friend and I went to a comedy show there..they kept us waiting for 90 F*ckng minutes telling us, "we are waiting for the special birthday party". Oh? People we dont even know? We paid $10 each for this comedy show, and we are waiting for some late, rude assholes to get there? Gross. Worst management ever. And very badly decorated too. Reminded me of a high school dance atmosphere in a school Gym. And a bad neighborhood completed it. OH, and the One Techno song that they looped while we waited for 90 minutes, too loud I might add. OH one more thing...a tiny plastic cup held a tiny mixed drink for $9. YES, I said $9. GROSS PLACE.
by Shannon R. on I came here tonight for Dining Out for Life. Simply put, the food at Prana is great, but the environment is very strange! It's a restaurant inside a big a club and you can tell! It just doesn't work-it's like they just slapped a few a chairs up against a few tables and decided to call it a restaurant for the early PM hours. The vacant dance floor in the middle of the huge room is oddly disconcerting and hard to ignore! That being said, the folks in the kitchen really know what they're doing! We had the tuna tartar and the fries to start, then the scallops and the chopped salad. I'd say the standouts were the tuna and the salad...and frankly, the complimentary naan and wanton basket, that came with three-count them, THREE-types of dipping sauce, was also pretty awesome! I had some kind of rum and iced tea flavored cocktail too, which was smooth and drinkable. My friend had the bread pudding for dessert which was just okay. The bill wasn't too steep, I didn't think, for the caliber of food that had been served. It's a shame about the ambiance, though, because just based on that alone, I don't know if I'd be back...MAYBE if I wanted to go clubbing at Temple (which I have no idea why I would, but hey, ya never know!), I would grab a late dinner there to avoid the cover, but other than that, I just don't really see it happening. So sad!
by Jay Ridges on This extremely spacious venue houses the Stompy-Sunset party every Sunday when it's a three-day weekend. I've never otherwise been to Cocomo. The sound system is amazing, the hardwood slides beautifully, and the outside area is spacious and has a tropical feel (even when it's 52 degrees outside). There's a drinking fountain at the edge of the dancefloor (yes!). Parking is usually pretty easy if you get there early enough. Can't wait for the next Stompy.
