by Irvin Wah on If you want great sushi in Atlanta, this is THE PLACE to go. Last Friday I came here with my husband and about 9 other folks to celebrate my husband's birthday and PhD graduation. The waitress that my friend reserved the space was very friendly. She suggested that we come a little later to avoid the crazy busy dinner crowd (8:30pm). When we got there, the table for 10 was already set up and ready for us. The waitress also suggested that we can just give the chef a budget, and he can basically do omikase (chef's choice) sushi/sashimi based on our budget. Chef Art did a great job putting together sushi & sashimi for our big group. He made us shrimp tempura with eel roll and a sashimi plate. Very delicious. The hubs & I also ordered an uni donburi (uni over a bowl of flavored rice) and miso cod. Both were really delicious. My hubs LOVES the uni at this place. The chef put a good amount of uni on the rice along with wasabi bits & roe. The miso cod was cooked just right, with the miso flavor throughout. The cod was very creamy and yummy goodness. Chef Art, after hearing that we were celebrating the hubs' PhD graduation, provided another plate of sashimi on the house. WOW! His creation is always very pretty, and yet delicious. So.... after all this the hubs & I, along with 2 more friends decided to be bad and order even more food. The hubs got the sashimi omikase, I ordered a clam miso soup. We also got the black sesame mochi ice cream. The hubs liked his sashimi a lot, as always. The clam miso soup was very yummy. The clams were freshwater clams from Japan. They were really small, but thoroughly flavored the soup. The black sesame mochi ice cream was SO GOOD as well... Too bad when we asked where they're from... they're from Japan and not available in the stores in the US :( I don't know how Chef Art and his clan does it... but they never fail to amaze and satisfy our sushi cravings. It does cost a pretty penny, but if you want good sushi, this is the place to go to :)
by Alexander Wayne on Hands down one of the best after hours spots I've been to. Good people, vibes and music. Eccentric, yes, but an experience I wouldn't want to miss out on.
by David d. on This place smells like FEET, and speaking of feet... my shoes ALWAYS stick to the floor, which is gross. Like at FELT, my shoes always stick to the floor there, too. Kind of hip inside, but with a mid 90s feel. Drinks cost way too much... I'd never start a tab here, cause I'd get wasted, and realize I drained my checking account by the end of the night. But the bartenders are so friendly! Tip well! The bathrooms are GROSS, I've used both. I'd rather go outside, next to my car. Decent set-up... lots of couches to sit down. Don't try to hide your coats behind the couches, use the coat check! I think the staff spills drinks on coats they find behind couches. *****Oh, and there was a sign on the door that said they were shut down, or something... I'd call ahead, before you plan on going.
