This was one of my first roof top experiences in the city and it was spectacular. The reasonable corkage fee let us enjoy a special bottle after we enjoyed their excellent sangria. The heat lamps kept us warm while the electricity from the Mission and the views made this an incredible experience .

The fabled image of the NYC velvet rope club with onlookers begging to get in and bouncers allowing entry to only the most beautiful women of the night had largely become a myth in my eyes. My experience had always been that if I was willing to buy a bottle with my friends there was never any issue with entry and once I got in, there were plenty of guys just like me and not nearly enough women. Then I went to Tenjune which, for better or worse, truly mimicked the door policy and feel I once thought was only seen in the movies. Despite reserving a table with bottle service ahead of time (through a friend who goes somewhat often and books everything through a promoter), I was still met with a look from the bald headed middle eastern'ish host that can only be described as 'mildly disgusted'. After much confusion and several indian given okays to enter, we finally got in. This place is not cheap: 2 bottles of Kettle One ran us $1200 after tax and tip. This was no surprise, but just be ready if you do take the plunge. What was surprising was the music selection which included such Jersey Shore anthems as "Love is Gone" by David Guetta and "Your Love" by The Outfield. As far as I can remember only 1 Jay-Z song was played, falling short of my quota by 37 songs. In the end though, it's silly to knock a place like this for having rude doormen or expensive bottles (and maybe even for having bad music). Actually, it's silly that anyone would even really mention these in a review of a meatpacking nightclub as it's a given that they will both be parts of the experience. I assure you, guys do not continue to go to these places because it's easy to get into or a bargain. They go because of the women, plain and simple.... and this place was flooded with beautiful ones creating a ratio extremely generous to the straight male clientele. If you're planning a night out with the boys and you've already accepted the fact that you'll be spending lots of cash and going to a club, do yourself a favor and drop a little extra $$$ for a much higher quality crowd than most NYC clubs. (P.S. - Guys, look at some of the negative reviews in detail... two that are showing on my sidebar are from one girl who couldn't get in because the doorman was being "too picky" and one who was upset because it was MODEL night and she felt out of place... these are not bad things for everyone)
