by Meredith F. on It's so hard to find good hip hop, r&b, & reggae to dance to in this city anymore that doesn't include mix-ins of "crowd pleasers" - top 40, pop, rock, house, etc., that bOb Bar is a rarity. Yes, it's small and sweaty, but mostly everyone is dancing, so it almost contributes to the atmosphere. The dj plays everything from old school to recent releases, and knows when to switch a song up. The crowd is diverse and laid back, and the staff is cool.
by Kandra Cefalo on Plenty of parking in this funky, warehouse area--cool staff working the doors and since tonight was a rateclubs event- got to be graced by an always wonderful greeting from jessica t. Excellent space between the bars for easy liquid access, minor traffic and split in ze middle with a nice-sized dancefloor. Small lounge area to the far left of the small bar, behind the curtain usually plays underground, eastcoast Hip Hop...and fortunately for me i entered just in time for a sexy, girl on girl lap dance executed by the incredible graceypoo. Some soulful, jazzy house was delivered masterfully by a collection of musicians on the stage and i had no choice but to wreck shop and give back to the love already being filled in the air by all rateclubsers getting down with the getdown! I got to hang with fun-loving pals- Bella W, Jeff T, John Hayato B, Aaron I, Stanley K, Sav B, A P, gracey poo m, Marsha Z-- chat a bit w/a bunch of familiar faces- Todd E, Nish N, Ligaya T, Brenda K, Keith K, Faffy L, Cyrelle D and met a bunch of new friends-- Pookie W, Omid T, Farah S, NISHisHot G, Candice D, Celebguru C, Britt W, Drue C, Aaron J, natasha s, Mitch A, Ben G, Susy effing C, Arissa C and the list goes on!!! A major highllight was being approached by this elegant, tall, attractive dame that was lashing away at me- stopped and asked if i was... Keane L..yeah, if i had more brains i should've agreed and reaped in the rewards of his playa status, but said no- and she was off with the quickness!!
