I reviewed the 11th street location a while ago, thought it would be fair to review this one since they are pretty different in vibe, although the menu is pretty much the same. This place has so much more potential. It amazes me that management doesn't push just that little bit on service and food standards. It could be a great place if food consistency and service were brought up to acceptable levels. A word on the location: if you choose to park and leave anything valuable in plain view, such as an iPod or a candy bar, go ahead and start filling out the police report before you get seated at your table. Otherwise you'll be there all night. Anyway, I thought I would try the "blackened" shrimp tacos here again for dinner, which is what I always get at the other location for lunch. Not that I like shrimp tacos, it's just that it's pretty much the only thing on the menu that isn't fried. They were better at this location than at the other one, by a good bit. Don't know if that's a lunch/dinner distinction, but it shouldn't be. Rat toes and a combo fried seafood basket, as well as the chips were the same, pretty good. Plus this place has Hercules Double IPA on tap, accounting for two of its three stars. Service is the same kind of aloof slacker riffraff. I really wish people would take a little bit of pride in what they do, no matter what that is.

Don't be fooled by the glitz and glamor of this place or the fact that a number of celebrities have bowled here. It's all smoke and mirrors. The decor is just a mirage to get people to forget that they actually paid a ridiculous sum of money to bowl and for watered-down drinks. Frankly, it's not worth one's money or aggravation to go to BL. For no frills bowling at a reasonable price, I much prefer the bowling alley at Port Authority. Yeah, it's obviously not an aesthetically-pleasing place, but who the heck really cares if the whole point of one's visit is to go bowling?? So, in closing, if one is seeking to waste money, lose patience and deal with an overcrowded space then I certainly recommend coming to BL. And, if you enjoy hanging out with a number of B & T folk and/or undergrads making douches of themselves, do visit BL. If one isn't a fan of the above, then do avoid BL.

Wonderful food, great atmosphere, but I went through hell twice trying to get a table. They don't really have things very organized and refuse to make a reservation for less than 3 people. Though in the end of the day, the food is worth the trouble, so only come if you're ready to be abused a little..
