We last tried the East Side Show Room when they first opened and experienced a few hiccups. Those issues seem to have disappeared. Sitting at the bar was fantastic. The decor is amazing and unique to Austin. Our bartender was extremely knowledgeable about the drinks and told stories about the history Chartreuse, which is apparently a french liquor made by monks. He kindly made me a drink that was no longer on the menu (the amazing pink pony) and also recommended another that was just as good. They also have a nice selection of IPAs-many of which I haven't seen around town. The Show Room app. was delicious except for one item of cheese that seemed misplaced. All in all, I'm happy to see issues we previously experienced are gone and am excited to go back for dinner.

I first went here on the advice of a Brighton Beach-bred friend who said, "No description does its awesomeness justice. Just go, and your life will change forever." I can't improve on that, so I'll just say that I celebrated my 25th here and daresay will see in 27 here, too. (26, I was heartbroken and celebrated with my parents at The Old Homestead. Par-tay!) It's a perfect party spot, as it's very far away, very expensive, and unbelievably festive: enough gold and glitz to do a czar proud, and you absolutely cannot overdress. You WILL be the only non-Russians. The buffet, while not to my mind scrumptious, is lavish, and the vodka doth flow. The floor show is surreal. Showgirls, drag queens, cover bands, twenty costume changes and a cast of thousands! The night I went they held a beauty contest to crown a "Queen of the Evening" which I failed to win, despite having drunk a full bottle of vodka. We're celebrating my birthday on the evening of Friday, May 2nd. Be there or be square!
