by Lupe Braegelmann on i dont want my review to be biased. i was here on the first night of pride weekend. me thinks it was thursday night. jam packed. hot and sweaty. smelled like balls even there werent many balls around. we didnt stay long, due to the hotness and packedness etc etc. on our way out is when the real fun started. michael jackson had just died, and upon walking to the exit, an mj song came on. i wanted to pay tribute so i started dancing. gettin' my groove on. i turn around to get my group to dance with me. and WHACK some chick hit me in the face, with her head i'm 5'7'' this chicks head only came up to my mouth what the fuck, was she running or something? it seriously felt as if i had been punched straight up in the mouth. it hurted so bad i instantly fell onto the bar. i tasted blood. i was sure my teeth were gone. THANK GOD THEY WERENT! but my top lip exploded. the bitch didnt even stick around to see if i was ok. and the bar got a healthy dose of my blood. gross. i dont live in SF so i cant say when i'll be back to Cat Club. but i can say my only memory of it isnt so fond. that was only the first night of my 4 day trip to san fran. so for the rest of the weekend people were looking at me like i just got the shit beat outta me. meow.
by Harvey Layton on **ROACH INFESTED** Before going to this bar, I decided to read the reviews on rateclubs. Despite two gross reviews mentioning roach sightings on the bartop, I decided anyways to check it out. Upon sitting at the bar, what do I see run across the counter? A roach!!!!!! It was nasty!!! Unless you don't mind roaches running past your drink, you might want to rethink this spot!!
by van n. on i kept having this impression that i didnt like this place. i've been here before for a few classes and stayed after to dance and everything about it rubbed me slightly wrong. i think cuz the people in class seemed not friendly....some of them too into their salsa-dancing diva selves and their own group of friends. and this spilled over into the dancing after class. but i wanted to begin a new life with salsa and my new salsa friend and she *loves* this place so we go....and i had *fun*!!! the difference? i arrived after 11 and i managed to either miss that whole crowd or it was too crowded to notice those few, prolly a little bit of both. the place is totally airy and spacious and parking is easy. i can't wait to do some mo' dancing!!! (watch out folks! i've been practicing my elbows in mma class :P)
