I'm extremely surprised by a lot of the negative reviews of this restaurant. For me, this restaurant was a huge treat. I normally couldn't afford a place like this, but a really good friend was turning 21 and her dad offered to take us all out. It was one of the best NYC experiences of my life. We got to the restaurant, and there is a nice coat check service. We did have to wait about 15-20 minutes, but while you wait, you get to sit in the "lounge bar" and have drinks. The ambiance of the place is really amazing. It's darkly lit, with zen music filling the room. For the amount of people it didn't seem too loud really. The alcohol and drinks were really fantastic quality. We got seated at a bit table on the second floor, it was a great view. They have a collage of prints from a national geographic photographer on one side of the restaurant, and the big Buddha on the other side. Really though, the decor, music, atmosphere, was really fun and zen-like. There were 8 of us, and we decided to all order together and share everything - and oh my gosh the food was AMAZING. I have never tasted food like this. The orange chicken, the ribs, the rice, the lo mein - all of it was to die for. Really. For dessert, we had a sampler platter of sorts, which was awesome. We had dessert wine, coffee with baileys, hot chocolate and cappuccinos- which quality and taste surpassed any that I've ever had. To top it all off, we saw Adam Lambert there and actually got a picture with him! There are a lot of celebrities and famous people who come to this restaurant, so keep an eye out if you go ;)

This place really sucks. When I try to think of a more refined and sophisticated way to express my disappointment with club the only word that continues to pop into my mind is "SUCKS." Sure the decor is nice, but when I go out to a club I'm looking to dance and not admire architecture. The so-called hip hop room downstairs was anything but that. It was techno all night, upstairs, downstairs, in the hallways. I felt like was at a rave...in fact this guy was next to me and my gf in the hip hop room doing figure 8's with his glowstick and trippin' out like he was on "E." Not to mention the cover charge to get into this place is absurd. $20 for a Vegas wannabe that will never be.

I love this place. it is a gay bar and i tend to get in trouble in gay bars (even though I'm not gay or bi), but... however it goes, i met a male friend here some time back who was in from Carmel. It was a late Sunday and He and i chatted for what seemed like a good 2 hours drinking some of the best martini's i have had anywhere in the city. The bartenders were outstanding, as were the servers. We also caught a glimpse of the drag show that was beginning to form. its close to everything mission and Castro, so an excellent location to start a night. We actually walked from here to Home to eat (wonderful food and drink) and followed a gaggle of gals to the Cafe' where i was accosted by Ms. Argentina (all 5' 2" , 90 lbs and yes male). Good thing i didn't have any more of those martini's from Martunis...
